Alexandra Lumley, BA Drama & Theatre Studies, UCC

AVCM

After joining a local speech and drama class at age 5, Alex fell in love with all things relating to theatre and performance.  She went on to become a prominent member of a number of drama groups in her hometown of Clonmel, and is known locally for her love of the stage.

She moved to Cork to study BA Drama & Theatre at UCC, where she earned her degree in 2016. During this time, she joined the Dramat society. She has worked in all aspects of the theatre including performance, technical theatre, stage management, writing and devising, co-directing an award-winning short play, and hair & makeup for an ISDA nominated production.

She has performed in Theatres such as the Peacock in Dublin, and The White Memorial in Tipperary, as well as The Granary and The Firkin Crane here in Cork. As well as her love for performing onstage, Alex has starred in multiple feature films, and has also worked with UCC film students in a number of film productions.

In 2022 Alex was awarded a Speech & Drama Teach Diploma (Dip AVCM).

It is her belief that drama plays an important role in the education of young people, and she wishes to pass this passion on to her students.
