Classes to suit every child
Drama and Musical Theatre - 60 mins
This is a mixed subject class that covers drama and musical theatre. This class is for the student who loves to sing and act. Here students learn songs from Broadway and take part in drama scenes and games. Each class starts with a vocal warm us and progresses onto singing and drama. Students are taught the song lyrics and music, including harmony and solos. Then, depending on the song, the number is either staged or choreographed. Students work on drama plays and are involved in the creative writing of some of their own drama pieces also. The teacher works with the students to help them understand and interpret these songs and pieces so they learn to tell the story that's within each song and drama piece. From the basic elements of pantomime and role playing to character development and scene study, students are introduced to the fun and work involved in theater. The drama department strives to build good artists while teaching students to work together and think creatively. A MUST for the student striving to be a Triple Threat!
Ballet Class- 60 minutes
For younger/ beginner children these classes will introduce students to basic ballet vocabulary and technique in a structured yet fun setting. Simple coordination, musicality, rhythm and concentration will be emphasized. Students are encouraged to explore space and enjoy dancing. As children get older and become more experienced these classes cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique. It is a more formal setting that will give students the discipline to mature as dancers. The importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorization will be stressed.
Dance Class- 60 minutes
This is a combination of theatre dance and dance class. Theatre Dance is a compilation of the different dance styles seen on Broadway. Due to the wide diversity of dance in musicals students cover a number of styles of dance depending on what piece they are working in their class from hip hop to theatre jazz there is something for everyone. The students also cover modern day artists in popular chart music. We also incorporate the dances of different eras, such as the Charleston from the 1920s, the Lindy from the 1950s and more. This class is a true dance class with a warm-up at the barre and in the center, followed by across the floor and a dance combination. This class builds an excellent repartee for students who are looking for a fun dance class or for students who wish to pursue dance as a career.
Company Class- 90 min
This class covers all aspects of performance , drama, musical theatre and dance. This class is most suited for students who have decided to pursue a career in the performance industry. Students who would like to join this class must first go through auditions and must be 12 years and over, students must also be doing at least one other class with the stage school. This class takes place in our main studio in Blackpool and Kinsale
Feis/Exam Class
These classes are for drama students who specifically want to compete in Feis and take exams in Speech an. This class covers all exam and preparation work needed. This class runs only from October to March which is Feis and exam time. Places are limited for this class and applicants should apply when applying for classes in September. It is recommended that students do another class as this class does not take part in any shows throughout the year.
Music lessons
Individual instruction for both the new and more advanced student, with focus on the fundamentals of vocal technique. This includes breathing and breath management, freedom or production, registration, resonance, diction and artistic interpretation. Opportunities for recital performance provided. Private voice students must be at least 7 years old.
We offer both private and groups guitar lessons. Start age is 7 years.
We offer bass and drums individual instruction.
Each group lesson is 60 minutes log and has between 6-8 in each group depending on the level, each private lesson is 30 minutes.
Children can choose to do music exams through the Victoria College of Music,London, exams are optional.
Summer Camps and Workshops
Super Stars has superb and super fun workshops and camps. These run throughout to year and will be listed in our calender of events.
Super Stars added an acro and gymnastics department in 2017. This department has grow rapidly. There are two sections to this department the performance based or the sports based.
Performance based classes are acro dance classes and take part in all stage school shows.
Gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics are part of our sports club they do not take park in shows but do however put on displays and compete.
