As a solo performer, Dee has won 1st place and come highly commended in the Feis Maitiú sean-nós category. She performed as a classical soprano at St Fin Barre's Cathedral choir for 7 years, and was the soloist with the choir's performance for the inerval act in the prestigious International Choral Festival.
Having won a scholarship to study classical piano with Andrew Zolinksy, Head of Keyboard studies at London's Royal College of Music, she attended vocal masterclasses with Deborah Roberts, acclaimed soprano and co-founder of The Tallis Scholars. Dee's passion for teaching and working with younger students was kicked off by accompanying end of year grade examinations as an accompanist in 2013. From there she went on to accompany the end of year Christmas Concert with the Declan Woolfe stage school and enjoyed it so much she began to teach younger students privately. She enjoyed teaching and passing on her love of all genres, from sean-nós, to classical, soul to pop, so much that she began to spend less time performing in bands, and more time as piano teacher. where she feels fulfilled inspiring confidence, technique and enjoyment in the children she teaches.
Besides teaching, and writing original material, Dee is still involed in a variety of bands around Cork, inlcuding Pontious Pilot and the Naildrivers, who she has 2 appearances with at Electric Picnic 2017. Dee is also currently undertaking a Diploma in Solo Piano Performance and recording a solo EP which she hopes to release in March 2018.
